I did not come out of school thinking that I would be a designer. I went to college to study illustration and was prepared to make a career out of it. So now, three years after graduating, I am surprised and delighted that I have spent every week since as a designer. It means that there is always a chance to learn something new. In hindsight, I should not have been as surprised. Books, movies, and video games were always a part of my life, and I learned quickly that an impractical typeface or choppy layout was cause enough to move on to the next thing. Luckily I had good friends with great tastes, and teachers who could point me in the right direction. They showed me that it is easy to make mistakes when you take things for granted. Good art needs someone patient enough to make it, and I have been patient ever since. Trying your own hand at something you love is intimidating, as much now as it was then, but knowing that you can makes the work worth the effort. These past three years have been proof enough, and I can not wait to see what comes next.
Like what you see? Let’s work together!
